Nokia Morph- The future concept phone from Nokia..
The Concept phone from Nokia- The Morph, the Nanotechnology based mobile . Its great an has features than one could have never even imagined. The phone would be transparent, all of its body is a touchscreen, fordable and more..amazing features. The phone can think and adjust to its surroundings. Read the full Story..also do see the video...
Launched alongside The Museum of Modern Art “Design and The Elastic Mind” exhibition, the Morph concept device is a bridge between highly advanced technologies and their potential benefits to end-users. This device concept showcases some revolutionary leaps being explored by Nokia Research Center (NRC) in collaboration with the Cambridge Nanoscience Centre (United Kingdom) – nanoscale technologies that will potentially create a world of radically different devices that open up an entirely new spectrum of possibilities.
Morph concept technologies might create fantastic opportunities for mobile devices:
* Newly-enabled flexible and transparent materials blend more seamlessly with the way we live
* Devices become self-cleaning and self-preserving
* Transparent electronics offering an entirely new aesthetic dimension
* Built-in solar absorption might charge a device, whilst batteries become smaller, longer lasting and faster to charge
* Integrated sensors might allow us to learn more about the environment around us, empowering us to make better choices
In addition to the advances above, the integrated electronics shown in the Morph concept could cost less and include more functionality in a much smaller space, even as interfaces are simplified and usability is enhanced. All of these new capabilities will unleash new applications and services that will allow us to communicate and interact in unprecedented ways.
Flexible & Changing Design
Morph Phone Operating
Nanotechnology enables materials and components that are flexible, stretchable, transparent and remarkably strong. Fibril proteins are woven into a three dimensional mesh that reinforces thin elastic structures. Using the same principle behind spider silk, this elasticity enables the device to literally change shapes and configure itself to adapt to the task at hand.
A folded design would fit easily in a pocket and could lend itself ergonomically to being used as a traditional handset. An unfolded larger design could display more detailed information, and incorporate input devices such as keyboards and touch pads.
Even integrated electronics, from interconnects to sensors, could share these flexible properties. Further, utilization of biodegradable materials might make production and recycling of devices easier and ecologically friendly.
Self-Cleaning
Nanotechnology also can be leveraged to create self-cleaning surfaces on mobile devices, ultimately reducing corrosion, wear and improving longevity. Nanostructured surfaces, such as “Nanoflowers” naturally repel water, dirt, and even fingerprints utilizing effects also seen in natural systems.
Advanced Power Sources
Nanotechnology holds out the possibility that the surface of a device will become a natural source of energy via a covering of “Nanograss” structures that harvest solar power. At the same time new high energy density storage materials allow batteries to become smaller and thinner, while also quicker to recharge and able to endure more charging cycles.
Sensing The Environment
Nanosensors would empower users to examine the environment around them in completely new ways, from analyzing air pollution, to gaining insight into bio-chemical traces and processes. New capabilities might be as complex as helping us monitor evolving conditions in the quality of our surroundings, or as simple as knowing if the fruit we are about to enjoy should be washed before we eat it. Our ability to tune into our environment in these ways can help us make key decisions that guide our daily actions and ultimately can enhance our health.

Computer virus in space - NASA astronauts get hit
This will be shown only in post's page.
(DPA) Scientists from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) were busy fighting a computer virus that managed to infect one of the laptop computers used by astronauts on the space station, a spokesman for the US space agency said.
Citing security concerns, NASA Wednesday declined to identify the virus, or how it made its way to the space station.
But the space news site SpaceRef.com, which first reported the infection, identified the virus as 'W32.Gammima.AG'. Referring to NASA's daily status reports, the site said the virus was probably transmitted on a flash disk drive which somehow had not been scanned.
The malware is a year-old Windows worm designed to steal information from players of 10 different online games, some of them specific to the Chinese market. Among the games are ZhengTu, HuangYi Online and Rohan.
NASA said that new anti-virus programmes had been installed on the station's computers and that the worm posed no threat. 'It was never a threat to any command-and-control or operations computer,' NASA spokesman Kelly Humphries told Computerworld magazine.

3G spectrum auction to begin by October-end
New Delhi, Aug 28 (IANS) The government Thursday said the auction for allotment of 3G spectrum will begin by October-end, while services will roll out this year.
'Auction of the 3G spectrum will begin by the end of October, and I plan to roll out services by the end of this year,' Communications and Information Technology Minister A. Raja said at a function here.
'Since the availability of spectrum in 3G space for CDMA operators has increased and so has competition, we are allowing more than one operator in this space,' he added.
Till date, Reliance Communication was the only contender in the 3G CDMA space on account of its high subscriber base. With Raja's latest announcement, other operators too can place bids.

MySpace overtakes Yahoo in display ad views - report
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Yahoo Inc has lost its lead of the U.S. market for online display advertising to MySpace and its parent company News Corp's Fox Interactive Media and MySpace, new industry data shows.
Fox Interactive's collection of sites, led by MySpace, drew 56.8 billion advertising views in June, compared with Yahoo's group of sites which had 53.1 billion, according to data from Web audience measurement firm comScore this week.
But while the statistic marks the rapid growth of MySpace in terms of advertising viewership, analysts say the social network site has struggled to draw top-dollar ad rates relative to Yahoo, known for attracting premium advertising rates.
"Social media gets all these ad impressions but not necessarily get the dollars," said Colin Gillis, analyst at Canaccord Adams. MySpace's cost per thousand (CPM) page views are significantly lower than that of Yahoo, he said.
A MySpace executive said it is closing the gap with rivals such as Yahoo, Time Warner's AOL and Microsoft Corp's MSN after the revamp of its home page in June, which has drawn in big-name sponsors such as Sprint and Wendy's.
"Our CPMs have grown significantly," Jeff Berman, MySpace president of sales and marketing, said of June's growth spike. "Category by category, year over year, we're up double digits."
According to comScore data for advertising impressions, June was the first month that Fox Interactive has surpassed Yahoo, which saw ad views dip by around 12 percent from May.
While it may be too soon to say that MySpace has overtaken Yahoo for good, comScore data shows that Yahoo's share of the display market has been trending down since July of 2007.
Yahoo questioned comScore's measurement methodology.
"We believe there could be issues with the measurement that could be misrepresenting Yahoo and we are reviewing comScore's methodology and working with them to resolve these issues," Spokesman Adam Grossberg said in a statement.
ComScore spokesman Andrew Lipsman countered that Yahoo's month-on-month drop in display ad view was an "organic decline" unrelated to any changes in the firm's measurement methods.
Yahoo has often championed its leadership in Web display advertising -- based on comScore data -- even as it lost ground to Google Inc's dominant lead in search advertising. Yahoo agreed in June for Google to supply it with ad services to run alongside Yahoo's own Web search system.
Richard Greenfield, analyst at Pali Research said the redesign of the MySpace home page earlier this summer created a more compelling advertising proposition for brand marketers such as Sprint and Wendy's.
"It shows how the redesign is allowing MySpace to reach far beyond the 'social media' advertising category and to target far larger portal advertising budgets," said Greenfield in a blog posting for investors. He said this was a negative omen for big portals like Yahoo as well as MSN and AOL.

Xperia - The next gen. phone from Sony Ericsson' launch further delayed..s
The latest mobile from Sony Ericsson- Xperia's launch further delayed in India. The delay has been further annoying, as the Iphone was lauched a few weeks ago. This looks like it is some sort of gimmick the company has cooked up to flash the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional handset at as many events as possible without making a proper statement as to when it will officially launch.
The last news we heard was that the handset was due to be out a while back. Nothing happened of course, and it was delayed till the latter half of the year.Rumors are all around that it may launch in November or may even be delayed to be launched next year 2009. The company might be prparing to deal with the new relases like the Iphone, N96...and might be working to mak their device competent and glitch free.

The project quickly became a team project. Mike Cheng eventually left leadership and started working on tooLame, an MP2 encoder. Mark Taylor became leader and started pursuing increased quality in addition to better speed. He can be considered the initiator of the LAME project in its current form. He released version 3.0 featuring gpsycho, a new psychoacoustic model he developed. Today, LAME is considered the best MP3 encoder at mid-high bitrates and at VBR, mostly thanks to the dedicated work of its developers and the open source licensing model that allowed the project to tap into engineering resources from all around the world. Both quality and speed improvements are still happening, probably making LAME the only MP3 encoder still being actively developed.

Microsoft's new strategy to fight pirated Vista and XP
Microsoft revealed new strategies to fight pirated version of XP and Vista..
It replaces the background with a blackscreen and more..
Recently i installed Service pack 1 on my system..(vista)
An you know what, as it was not genuine..the system was doomed..
The system says that its not genuine..
So after every 60 Minutes the background screen goes all black.
No matter how many times you set up the wallpaper..
And also at the corner it shows a small watermark text..
which Microsoft calls a ‘persistent desktop notification.’
It is to make people to buy more of Vista systems as the sales weren't as good as expected.
Fo me Vista has been so annoying..and i switched back to XP...and linux..
A good move for Microsoft...But i don't believe that would make people buy authenticated copy..As if they wanted they would have already purchased that and wouldnt have gone with a pirated version.

Free Linux Download:- An overview of all popular versions..
Download Linux
While there are too many Linux distributions for us to include them all, here are some of the most popular Linux distros, along with their download pages.
CentOS - The Community Enterprise Operating System
CentOS is a distribution based on source RPMs from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and strives to be 100% binary compatible with RHEL.CentOS download mirrors
Damn Small Linux
Damn Small Linux is a live CD distribution that fits on a business card CD and is light enough to run on a 486 computer with as little as 16MB of RAM.Damn Small Linux mirrors, BitTorrent
Debian
The Debian distribution and Debian Project are governed by a social contract that requires that OSes produced by Debian will be 100% "free," as determined by the Debian Free Software Guidelines (DFSG).Debian download page
Fedora
Fedora, formerly known as Fedora Core, is a Linux distribution sponsored primarily by Red Hat, with significant community participation. The Fedora Linux distro produced by the Fedora Project was based on the original Red Hat Linux distribution and is made up entirely of free and open source software.Fedora mirrors, BitTorrent
Note that the Fedora Project produces several "spins," including live CDs, DVDs containing the full set of Fedora packages, and boot ISOs for Internet installations of Fedora. See the installation guide to figure out which version of Fedora is right for you.
Freespire
Freespire is the community-oriented version of Linspire.Freespire download, BitTorrent
Gentoo
Gentoo is a source-based distribution, meaning all of its programs can be compiled from source code rather than installed as binary packages. That makes it highly configurable. Because the operating system and all of its applications can be compiled for the specific machine architecture it's installed on, Gentoo can perform extremely well. Gentoo is available for at least eight 32- and 64-bit hardware platforms. The distribution is more complicated to install than many others, but an active user community can help those who wish to tackle it.Gentoo uses a package system called Portage that resembles FreeBSD's Ports. It lets you quickly install more than 10,000 pre-built applications.

Linux Mint
Linux Mint is an Ubuntu-based distribution that comes in two main CD versions. The Light Edition avoids non-free patented software. The Full Edition includes proprietary plugins and codecs. Both use the GNOME desktop environment by default. You can also download a KDE Community Edition DVD or miniKDE Community Edition CD, or an XFCE Community Edition CD.Download page
Mandriva Linux
Mandriva Linux, formerly known as MandrakeLinux, is an RPM-based distro that was originally designed to be binary compatible with Red Hat Linux. Mandriva produces versions of its Linux distribution for consumer desktops, corporate servers, and for high performance clusters. Some, but not all, versions of Mandriva are free to download.Mandriva download page
openSUSE
The openSUSE project is sponsored by Novell to create a base for the SUSE Linux distribution it sells and supports. The openSUSE distribution is worked on by Novell employees and community members, and is suitable for desktop and server use.You can find openSUSE downloads at download.opensuse.org, but it may be a little confusing. The project offers multiple ISOs for CD installation, DVD installation, and network installation. You can also find BitTorrents for the various downloads, and a live DVD. If you're not quite sure what you need, visit the download guide, which explains the release table, and what development versions may be available and how stable they're likely to be.
PCLinuxOS
PCLinuxOS is a popular Linux distribution distributed as a live CD that can be installed to your hard drive. Originally based on Mandriva, PCLinuxOS is now a solid distro in its own right that uses APT and Synaptic to manage packages, and some of the original Mandriva administration tools.PCLinuxOS download mirrors, BitTorrent
Puppy Linux
Puppy Linux was written from scratch with two goals in mind: speed and ease of use. At boot time the entire system loads into RAM and runs from there, which significantly boosts the system's overall speed, and lets you run Puppy on a diskless workstation or thin client. It downloads in only 90MB, and can run as a live CD. It also comes with a remastering script for creating derivative distros, which other developers have used to build Puppy-based distros (called puplets), including NOP, GrafPup, and EduPup.Puppy Linux download page
Sabayon Linux
Sabayon Linux is based on Gentoo and supports both i386 and AMD64/EMT64 architectures. It comes in a 4.7GB live DVD release, a Professional version based on the stable branch of Portage, and a 700MB CD Mini version. While Sabayon contains proprietary drivers, free software fans can disable them at boot time.Sabayon download page
Slackware
Slackware Linux is the world's oldest surviving Linux distribution.Slackware download page, BitTorrent trackers
Ubuntu
Ubuntu is a popular community-developed Linux distribution for laptops and desktop machines, and is also gaining popularity on servers. Linux Shortcuts..
Here is a list of Linux Shortcuts..most of these can be easily used o WIndows machine as well
< Virtual terminals >
Ctrl + Alt + F1
Switch to the first virtual terminal. In Linux, you can have several virtual terminals at the same time. The default is 6.
Ctrl + Alt + Fn
Switch to the nth virtual terminal. Because the number of virtual terminals is 6 by default, n = 1...6.
tty
Typing the
tty
command tells you what virtual terminal you're currently working in.Ctrl + Alt + F7
Switch to the GUI. If you have X Window System running, it runs in the seventh virtual terminal by default. If X isn't running, this terminal is empty.
< X Window System >
Ctrl + Alt + +
Switch to the next resolution in the X Window System. This works if you've configured more than one resolution for your X server. Note that you must use the + in your numpad.
Ctrl + Alt + -
Switch to the previous X resolution. Use the - in your numpad.
MiddleMouseButton
Paste the highlighted text. You can highlight the text with your left mouse button (or with some other highlighting method, depending on the application you're using), and then press the middle mouse button to paste. This is the traditional way of copying and pasting in the X Window System, but it may not work in some X applications.
If you have a two-button mouse, pressing both of the buttons at the same time has the same effect as pressing the middle one. If it doesn't, you must enable 3-mouse-button emulation.
This works also in text terminals if you enable the
gpm
service.Ctrl + Alt + Backspace
Kill the X server. Use this if X crashes and you can't exit it normally. If you've configured your X Window System to start automatically at bootup, this restarts the server and throws you back to the graphical login screen.
< Command line - input >
Home or Ctrl + a
Move the cursor to the beginning of the current line.
End or Ctrl + e
Move the cursor to the end of the current line.
Alt + b
Move the cursor to the beginning of the current or previous word. Note that while this works in virtual terminals, it may not work in all graphical terminal emulators, because many graphical applications already use this as a menu shortcut by default.
Alt + f
Move the cursor to the end of the next word. Again, like with all shortcuts that use Alt as the modifier, this may not work in all graphical terminal emulators.
Tab
Autocomplete commands and file names. Type the first letter(s) of a command, directory or file name, press
Tab
and the rest is completed automatically! If there are more commands starting with the same letters, the shell completes as much as it can and beeps. If you then press Tab
again, it shows you all the alternatives. This shortcut is really helpful and saves a lot of typing! It even works at the lilo prompt and in some X applications.
Ctrl + u
Erase the current line.
Ctrl + k
Delete the line from the position of the cursor to the end of the line.
Ctrl + w
Delete the word before the cursor.
< Command line - output >
Shift + PageUp
Scroll terminal output up.
Shift + PageDown
Scroll terminal output down.
clear
The
clear
command clears all previously executed commands and their output from the current terminal.Ctrl + l
Does exactly the same as typing the
clear
command.reset
If you mess up your terminal, use the
reset
command. For example, if you try to cat a binary file, the terminal starts showing weird characters. Note that you may not be able to see the command when you're typing it.< Command line - history >
history
When you type the
history
command, you'll see a list of the commands you executed previously.ArrowUp or Ctrl + p
Scroll up in the history and edit the previously executed commands. To execute them, press
Enter
like you normally do.ArrowDown or Ctrl + n
Scroll down in the history and edit the next commands.
Ctrl + r
Find the last command that contained the letters you're typing. For example, if you want to find out the last action you did to a file called "
file42.txt
", you'll press Ctrl + r and start typing the file name. Or, if you want to find out the last parameters you gave to the "cp
" command, you'll press Ctrl + r and type in "cp
".< Command line - misc >
Ctrl + c
Kill the current process.
Ctrl + z
Send the current process to background. This is useful if you have a program running, and you need the terminal for awhile but don't want to exit the program completely. Then just send it to background with
Ctrl+z
, do whatever you want, and type the command fg
to get the process back.Ctrl + d
Log out from the current terminal. If you use this in a terminal emulator under X, this usually shuts down the terminal emulator after logging you out.
Ctrl + Alt + Del
Reboot the system. You can change this behavior by editing
/etc/inittab
if you want the system to shut down instead of rebooting.Great new mp3 songs..
Download them directly from here..
Don't click on songs..but to download any just..
Right click->Select Save link as or Save Target As->Save it..
